L114: Rhyming
The Rhyming Cards set invites children to explore the playful side of language by matching pictures of objects that rhyme. This material helps children listen closely, identify sound patterns, and experience the joy of discovering words that “go together” through rhyme. Matching pairs like “bat” and “rat” or “king” and “ring” lays a strong foundation for phonological awareness: an essential skill for early reading and writing.
This activity encourages children to listen for syllables, break words into sounds, and notice the rhythm of language. Through repetition and gentle verbal feedback, they learn how words connect through sound, building confidence and a love for language along the way.
